Academic Advising
What are your goals? What is a plan that will work for you?
At Cincinnati State, we focus on each student’s lifelong career success. That begins with academic advising: guiding each student in identifying and attaining meaningful educational and professional goals. Then, the student can make the most of the educational opportunities available at Cincinnati State and make informed decisions regarding education, career, and life goals.
Academic advising starts with the student—first, the collection of individual student information and the interpretation of this data, then, research and sharing information about educational programs, resources, and career options, as well as sequencing courses of instruction, policies, and procedures.
At Cincinnati State, students are assigned an academic advisor based on the student’s program choice. Together, they discuss long and short-range educational goals, and then map out an academic plan that will guide the student toward achieving those goals. During his or her college studies, The student and advisor touch base frequently to stay the course for student success—now and for the future.
